HPV Vaccination

Cervical cancer is the leading cause of death for women worldwide, with one woman dying from this disease every 2 minutes, and in Indonesia, one woman dies every hour. Cervical cancer can actually be prevented. This vaccination can be given starting at the age of 9.

HPV vaccination is the main step in preventing HPV infection. Human Papillomavirus is a virus that can cause genital warts and cervical cancer by infecting an individual.

The recommendations for HPV vaccination according to the Ministry of Health regulations are:

• Girls aged 9 to 13 are advised to receive the vaccination twice within a 12-month period.
• Women aged 13 to 45 should receive the vaccination three times. The schedule is as follows: the first and second doses are given two months apart, and the second and third doses are given six months apart.
